In any given health care sector, a nurse leader plays an essential purpose. This is because the nurse leader is in charge of overseeing the various nurses, concluding various decisions, and directing the patient care initiatives. The nurse leaders are equipped with advanced clinical knowledge; hence they are focused on the improvement of the health care nursing practice each day. Nursing leadership is thus a critical component in any given society due to the various responsibilities and functions assigned to them in the health care practice. They are demanded of various qualities in order to manage efficiently in the field, such as emotional intelligence, integrity, critical thinking, the dedication to excellence in their practice, and communication skills (Kim et al., 2019). This scholarly article seeks to provide a detailed analysis of the nurse leaders, with evidence-based contribution analysis of the nurse leadership to the professional nursing and their historical analysis. The paper will also address the foundation groundwork for a movement that aided in the promotion of success and future of nursing care delivery.

The rationale for the selection of nurse leader

Before the appointment to the nurse leadership position in the nursing profession, it requires a specific rationale. This constitutes of the challenges that are tackled in the journey to becoming a nurse leader. The aspiring nurse leader is demanded to possess a bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Through the degree attainment, the students are trained in leadership and management by emphasizing quality improvement and patient safety (Kang et al., 2020). The various positions are open for application for the various students who have attained the degree. Several positions open up along the career path to demonstrate the leadership qualities and aptitude for acquiring new information on the current trends (Celik and Ergin, 2020). Therefore validating the role of continuous education is a critical component for nursing leadership practice.

Movement

Nursing leadership is an essential component in the healthcare sector as it can pinpoint various concerns and consequences at early stages before reaching maturity. Schrölkamp (2017)  Attest that various healthcare practitioners are more determined to undertake the various duties and tasks despite the various nursing practices being driven by politics and policy. However, they did not participate in the decision-making process of their practice. In the various cases where the parliament, government as well as boardrooms formulate the policies, the various nurse leaders are not involved nor consulted. However, this is phased out in the system as the nurses worldwide are creating awareness through the global Nursing Now in collaboration with the International Council of Nurses and the World Health Organization (Li et al., 2017). This movement will ensure the involvement of the nurse leaders in the formulation of the policies with the best interests that favors fellow leaders and able to initiate changes at a very early period, especially in an outbreak.

Contributions of nursing leadership to professional nursing

While incorporating leadership in nursing, there are various great benefits realized from its improvisation. The nurse leaders are generally assigned the role of leadership where they are required to guide the various other nurses in adherence to the various standards of quality and safety. However, the contributions are further divided into three responsibilities (Kim, 2020). The nurse leaders are first mandated to ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services. Hence, this responsibility demands the various individuals applying for the post to be familiar with the safety standards and protocols demanded in the healthcare setting. Under this contribution, they are assigned the role of supervision over the other nursing team to ensure effective, safe healthcare.

The nurse leaders are also tasked with the maintenance of evidence-based practices within the nursing teams. Based on this provision, the nurse leaders are demanded of being up to date and well informed of the various emerging trends in nursing so as the nurses within their leadership are up to date in the provision of the health care services (McCarthy et al., 2019). Fowler (2017) affirms that nurse leaders are demanded of regular and continuous professional publications and research to keep them alert of the emerging issues within the profession. Besides, the various evidence-based research publications alert the nurses to the choices they are entitled to make in inpatient management care.

The nurse leaders are also tasked with monitoring the patient care, hence offering assurance to the relatives of the ailing patient that the best nursing team is working to achieve the optimum quality standards at whatever time of the day (McCarthy et al., 2019). Hence, this provision requiring of the patients to work diligently while ensuring heed to the patent complaints. Hence, the nursing leadership in the promotion of the delivery of quality health care aims to achieve quality experiences for both the patient and the nursing.

Nursing movement involving the women

In modern nursing, the leadership style within nursing professionalism traces its first application in the united states during the first world war (1861-1865). The application of leadership in nursing, as commonly known as nurse leaders, originated from the ‘sponsored profession by the sponsored profession.’ The motion was sponsored by various wealthy women and intended to reform military hospitals (Iheduru-Anderson, 2021). In an attempt to overcome the criticism and opposition of the females in the various military hospitals, the various sponsors cede all clinical decisional rights of the nurses to the various military studies. Nursing hence sprouts as a subordinate and conjugated profession (Al‐Yateem et al., 2020). Hence, this relates to the first recent but untrained nurses who gain various skills and experience through the direct dealing with war horrors. Following the termination, the various women emerging as American nursing leaders. The various women individuals within this context communicated with each other through English, Canadian, and European nursing leaders.

There have been several attempts in changing nursing preparation into schools but on the modification of the Nigh gale model. Therefore, this constitutes of the various challenges that nursing leaders and nurses face. In the United States, this aims at conquering the nursing control for nursing education. The various physicians had previously exploited the free labor in the guise of the school (Al‐Yateem et al., 2020). The American Nurses Associate was initiated in 1896, after passing with a resolution of 25 days, unlike others. The various women were also exploited and looked down on in the provision of the investor prospect. In addition, nursing education is facing intense criticism by the vast society based on the scientific fact hence the tense mental application, which leads to the withering of the female reproductive organs and the subversion of the women from their vital function. Besides, additional education does not adduce movement; furthermore, the education would make the nurse less compliant.

Conclusion

Ultimately, nursing leadership is a new trend in nursing professionalism that seeks to ensure that patients can receive efficient and quality health care services whenever they attend any medical attention. As discussed above, nursing leadership is essential due to the three classifications of leadership contributions in society. Several movements have been discussed above, which are instituted depending on the settings. Nursing leadership also contributes to the interprofessional. The rationale for the entry for the nurse leader position demands an educational background in nursing, which offers an understanding of the various leadership roles. The United States culture has various policies in the health care sector influenced by the present political and social classes, hence pushing the formation of new policies and laws in a more harmonious world. Nursing leadership is crucial in the professional nursing practice as the leaders lead the various individuals under their management to undertaking various professional practices, especially those incorporating the newest trends in the profession. The women’s movement was formed due to discrimination against women. The various laws which are passed by the government without the consent of the nurse leaders jeopardizes the smooth running of the health care sector since the various opinions of the nurses are looked down upon by the government hence lacking in effectiveness. The formation of the movement was to aid to solicit support through which they will some individuals were discriminated such as the women which led to vast and extensive power for the main characteristic. The nurse leaders should keep the various teams assigned underneath at per with the latest trends so as they can get used to the job.
