ANSWER:

Assignment 1

Introduction

Medical and nursing practice is evolving, with constantly changing patient needs. These require healthcare providers and nurses to have the skills and knowledge to effectively and adequately address the complex and varying needs of the patients (Nash et al., 2018). One of the ways of equipping oneself with knowledge and skills is through advancement in education, for instance, through the MSN program. A successful MSN journey and program requires a strong and healthy academic and professional network (Keleekai-Brapoh & Toresco, 2020). This will not only help in ensuring the success of the MSN journey but also enhance my professional practice. This paper focuses on identifying two academic and two professional individuals or teams, which through collaborating with them, will facilitate the success of the MSN program, and my practice as a nurse. The paper also outlines how selecting the teams or groups will facilitate my success in the MSN journey.

Academic Individuals or Teams

One of the fundamental academic individuals is Dr. Maryanne Curtis, who is a professor of Nursing at my previous institution. Having practice nursing for several years, she has vast experience and expertise within my study area in the MSN program. Through her support in terms of guidance, mentorship, and knowledge, she will be a very valuable asset in enabling me to pass through the course successfully, enhancing my understanding of complex concepts, how to perform research successfully, and the best ways to improve my practice for better patient care. By creating a good rapport, having good relations, and regularly interacting with Dr. Curtis, I will be able to get the opportunity to improve my learning and understanding of concepts, get the necessary feedback regarding my assignments and projects, as well as get the best academic advice that will help in not only my academic excellence but also clinical practice.

The other academic team I intend to collaborate with for a successful MN program includes a nursing study group with my peers and y fellow MSN students. Through such groups, we will share knowledge and encourage collaboration and mutual support for each other. Such discussion groups also can make understanding difficult concepts easy, as it encourages exchanging ideas and information and joint problem-solving. By ensuring the effectiveness of such groups, such as through regular meetings and setting of group rules, such study groups will not only enhance togetherness and long-lasting friendships even after the MSN program but also improve our critical thinking and promote adequate preparations for assignments and examinations.

Professional Individuals or Teams

In addition to the academic individuals and teams, I intend to collaborate with professional individuals and teams to make the MSN program successful. One such professional team is the nursing leadership team at my workplace. This will enable me to gain adequate knowledge regarding applying the knowledge gained in the MSN program in real life. The team will also enable me to gain exposure to various aspects, such as nursing leadership and quality improvement initiatives, which will enable me to bridge the gap between academia and actual clinical practice. The other professional organization I will collaborate with is a nursing organization, such as the American Nurses Association, or a specialty-specific organization based on the specialty I am pursuing in my MSN program. Such an organization will help me share practical knowledge, advise me on career advancement, and serve as my role for professional excellence and growth.

Conclusion

Effective collaborations with those, as mentioned earlier, academic and professional individuals and teams will enable me to have an easy and successful journey in my MSN program (Keleekai-Brapoh & Toresco, 2020). This will place me in a better position to manage complex patient needs, as I will have gained valuable knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients effectively.
